Mrs. Ali Ross
The primary goal of the Pequot Lakes School Counseling Program is to promote and enhance all students’ learning through academic, career, and personal/social development. I strongly believe that an alliance with the parents is a great indicator of success. We strive to be proactive and preventive in focus. The purpose is to implement programs so students can develop specific skills and experience learning opportunities that will enable them to become successful citizens. The school counselor is not the entire counseling program; all educators play a role in creating an environment that promotes the achievement of identified student goals and outcomes.
About Mrs. Ross-
I am very proud to be a Patriot and love working with our middle school students and staff. I’ve been the middle school counselor here since August 2013. I grew up in a community similar to Pequot Lakes, which makes my husband and I confident about raising our family here. After completing my master’s degree in school counseling at MSU-Mankato, I was a high school counselor in St. Francis, MN for a few years before moving to Rochester, MN. In the small town of Pine Island, I enjoyed getting my feet wet as a middle school counselor. After a few great years in southern MN, my husband took a job in Baxter and we’ve spent the last few years laying down roots north of Nisswa with our son, Kane, and daughter, Molly.
