Pequot Lakes Middle School (also sometimes called "Middle Level") serves children in grades 5 through 8 in the Pequot Lakes School District. The middle school shares its campus with Pequot Lakes High School and participates in the same 7 period schedule. Students at Pequot Lakes Middle School receive instruction in language arts, mathematics, science and social studies in grade level areas but also benefit from numerous art, music, physical education, technology and STEM offerings that take place throughout the campus. Older middle school students have the opportunity to participate in numerous after school activities taking advantage of Pequot Lakes' modern facilities.

Due to a recent renovation project, PLMS now includes a beautiful new 5th and 6th grade self-contained wing that affords younger children the opportunity to work collaboratively with other children their own age. This wing includes book rooms with appropriately-leveled reading material to support the district's literacy goals and a lifelong love of reading.

To support the needs of the modern learner, several courses utilize digital curriculum and supporting materials to actively engage learners and build foundational technology skills that are further expanded as students enter high school.
